Zero Liquid Discharge

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technologies and applications

Keith Minnich’s experience in Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) includes:

Conducted the applied research and testing, and designed the first seeded slurry brine concentrators.

Formed a consortium in Italy with a local project lead and fabricator and oversaw the technology selection and business development for Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) ZLD plants at five power stations in Italy.

Selected Engineering and Project Experience as Lead Engineer with full design responsibility and authority for conceptual design, pilot testing, HMB, PFD, P&ID, evaporator vessel design, major component specification and selection, piping design, and field commissioning for the following projects:

  • MVC falling film evaporator with TCV forced circulation concentrator, pulp and paper ZLD (Duluth, MN)
  • MVC falling film evaporator, food processing ZLD (Camden, NJ)
  • CaSO4 seeded slurry falling film evaporator, food processing ZLD (Hoboken, NJ)
  • MVC falling film evaporator, chemical processing ZLD (Pensacola, FL)
  • Forced circulation crystallizer, chemical processing ZLD (Chocolate Bayou, TX)
